Home Visits

What Is a Home Visit?

A Home visit is a locum service provided by My Family Podiatrist. So if someone is unable to attend appointments at the clinic, due to immobility or ill-health, then one of our podiatrists will treat you in your home.

Generally home visits consist of a general  inspection of your foot health, a diagnoses related to any issues or pain and Routine Footcare. This means your nails will be debrided (trimmed and thickness removed). Callus and corns will be removed. Massage and emollient will be applied to your feet.

Other services that we can offer in a home visit include:

  • Ankle sprains

  • Athlete’s foot

Why have a Home Visit?

  • People who are home bound through mobility or health issues need more care not less.

  • Having the visit of a locum health provider adds a boost to the mental and emotional health of infirmed people, as well as to their physical health. Let’s never underestimate the power of touch and care for every person’s wellbeing.

  • Immobilized or infirmed older people are more likely to have undiagnosed foot issues, that if corrected, may add significant value to their quality of life

  • Older people have far more difficulty cutting long hard toenails that their more sprightly counterparts
